To be successful in any sort of voice-over work, such as audiobooks, professional voice-overs, content creation, online training, etc. - You need to follow and execute some simple steps.
The steps are:
Record your audio at the proper recording level - Peak should not cross -6 dB during recording
Ensure your white noise is consistent. Otherwise, your post-processing will produce below-par output, and some platforms will not even accept your audio.
Learn the Normalize and Compressor effects well. There is no excuse for not learning these 2 effects. Without these effects, your audio level will never be satisfactory.
Be familiar with ACX audiobook submission requirements even if you have never worked in audiobook narration. ACX requirements are generally a guideline for producing noise-free, comfortable audio listening. That is the ultimate goal of other voices over as well.
If you can follow the 4 steps I outline above, you are all set for voice-over success. But how do you follow these 4 steps?

Watch Free YouTube tutorials. Well, it is obvious, and if you watch tutorials, you will be educated more to take proper action.
Watch my YouTube videos to learn about Audacity. I make tutorials for beginners, and I feel that they are easy to follow. If not, please let me know, and I will put more effort into making it beginner-friendly
Find blogs and articles on the 4 steps I mentioned above. You need to be clear on the actions you need to take. Once you explore a different perspective, you will discover your “aha” moment.
You can take courses from your favorite creator. If you like someone’s YouTube video, you like their teaching style. This is a good match and will set you on the path to faster learning.
You can enroll in one of my training programs. Currently, I am running 2 training programs. Neither of the programs requires one to be present at a specific time. These are designed as a learn-at-your-own-pace and time. These programs heavily focus on personalized feedback. You will get guidance at every step, and you will learn faster and better.
You must believe there is no magic for better audio production. People waste too much time searching for a magic solution that does not exist. As long as you do not go in that direction, your time will not be wasted.
