📬 “What to Grow Right Now – Winter Sneak Peek 🌿”

Jun 15, 2025

🌱 G’day legends!

I’ve been working behind the scenes on something really useful — my very first downloadable Vegetable Sowing Guide, built just for Aussie growers who want real, seasonal tips that work.

And because you're following the journey, I want to give you an early sneak peek!

🧄 WHAT TO GROW RIGHT NOW (JUNE–JULY)
Here’s a sample from the full guide:

✅ Snow Peas – Soak the seeds overnight for quicker germination. Build a permanent trellis so when the snow peas are finished, you can use the same setup in the warmer months for climbing crops like Beans, Cucumbers, and more.
✅ Lettuce – Try Cos and open-leaf varieties for better results this time of year.
✅ Kale and Brassicas – These perform well in the cooler seasons. Protect them from cabbage moth by using netting if you see them hovering around during the day.
✅ Yellow Cherry Tomatoes – In the sub-tropics, these beauties can thrive through the cooler months!
✅ Winter Cover Crops – Not using your garden beds? Consider sowing cover crops like mustard, rye, or lupins to improve soil health and suppress weeds during the off-season.
✅ Watch for Slugs & Snails – Wet winter weather brings them out, especially around leafy greens. Set shallow containers or cans into the soil and fill with beer — they’re attracted to the smell and fall in. Check traps regularly and empty them into the bin.

📌 There’s much more in the full guide — planting tips, sowing months, and a colour-coded layout so you know what grows when in every season.

🎁 The full guide drops this week, and it’ll be available right here on my Buy Me a Coffee page.

This is your chance to grow smarter, save time, and get the most from your garden — no fluff, just real advice from what’s working in Marty’s Garden right now.

💚 Thanks again for following along. Your support helps grow more than food — it helps build a self-sufficient future for everyone watching.

See you soon,
Marty
