In August 2017, Mariana De la Rosa arrived in Quebec from Mexico with dreams and a suitcase full of music. While studying for a Bachelor of Music at Université de Sherbrooke, this mezzo-soprano became a self-producer. Passionate about opera, she aims to share it widely through original productions with positive social messages. Among her creations are: Dualité, Et in terra pax, Eurotour, Synesthésie: Musique et couleurs, and Racines transposées. Recent highlights include performing at Consulmex Montréal’s independence ceremony, Racines transposées at Espace Mexico, and the world premiere of Sortilegio at Salle Pierre-Mercure. She has performed at the AVEC and La brise culturelle de Sherbrooke festivals and represented Mexico at Dialogues week. In March 2024, she released her first album, Rosas y espinas, exploring love through Mexican and Italian classical music. She is promoting it on tour in Quebec and Ontario, where the audience's enthusiasm has been palpable in concert.
