Hey everyone, Minas here from MapChart! 🗺
MapChart is a simple, free tool that lets you make your own custom map of the World, Europe, the Americas, United States, UK, and more with colors and descriptions of your choice.
You simply paint the countries the color you want, declare what each color stands for in the legend and get to download a nice-looking map.
What started as a side-project, has now evolved to the #1 map-making website on the web, visited by thousands of users daily. There are currently over 60 map templates to choose from:
- World maps
- Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, Oceania
- USA states/counties/congressional districts
- Subdivision maps (counties, provinces, etc.)
- Historical maps (1815, 1880, 1914, 1938, World War I, World War II, Cold War)
- Single country maps (UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and 20+ more)
- Fantasy maps (Westeros and Tamriel)
There is also a brand new MapChart app for iOS and Android, with almost all the functionality of the website adapted for mobile devices.
I am constantly listening to feedback and improving MapChart with new maps and features.
If you find MapChart useful and want to support its development, feel free to buy me a coffee.

I have fallen head over heels for this website since I began using it a few years ago. I absolutely adore making hypothetical nations and alternative historical maps, and this site is incredible for both! It's an excellent way to combine my love of history, geography, and fantasy into one project I can get lost in. With that being said, I was curious as to whether or not the following would be a possibility: Add a map to the Europe group of maps that has the "European Union NUTS3" map as its base while simultaneously using the "Detailed (Provinces/States)" map for the European countries that are not members of the European Union. This is merely a suggestion, as I do not know how challenging a project of that nature would be. Anyway, I just wanted to show my appreciation for all your work.

Thanks, I'm writing an urban fantasy novel and I wanted to play with some maps showing werewolf territories without spending hours doing graphic design and this delivered perfectly.
