I first experienced chamomile for the first time on a farm that I had just purchased 30 years ago. A plant similar to the one in the picture was growing along a paved walk and in the cracks of the concrete. With a bit of research, I discovered some of the wonderful uses of this heavenly plant. Most often I use it when I need a bit of help getting to sleep or to calm my nerves. Here is my nerve calming recipe.
TO CALM A SLEEPLESS NIGHT
Warm one mug of milk to just below scalding. I use a microwave and I prefer goat's milk
Add one chamomile tea bag or one teaspoon chamomile buds to the hot milk
Let it steep until the ilk is pleasantly warm
Sweeten with a bit of honey
Sip your evening treat and head off to bed.
