Warcrying Devlog September 25

Warcrying Devlog September 25

Sep 24, 2025

If you missed my previous month you can catchup on what’s going on with my July 25 dev log and my August 25 one.

Quick summary: I’m making Warcrying 2.0 (get it now on iOS and Android) changing a lot of the systems and UI in order to provide a better experience and using the data that feeds into Warcrier.

Remember that Warcrying is a community-driven project that doesn’t target anything else than breaking even.

I’m doing it because I want to, not because I hope it’ll break the charts.

I’m not associated in any way with Games Workshop.

Definitely prettier…

Next step: Army Builder Base

Well it sounds easy. But it contains a lot of work.

Think about it like this.

As a user…

  • You want to be able to create a warband

  • You want to be able to edit the warband

  • You want to be able to delete the warband

  • You want to be able to add, remove & duplicate a fighter

  • You want to be able to associate divine blessings to each fighter

  • You want to be able to understand quickly the rules of creating a warband

  • You want to be able to copy-paste your warband OR print it in PDF

  • You want to be able to access any previously created warband at any time

I’ll try to deliver something where you can build whatever you want without having to think about special rules such as bladeborns.

They’ll be written down, but nothing will be built to be dynamically showing them.

Then I’ll implement the special rule system.

One step at a time…

FAQ

(You can ask your own by commenting this post)

When can I fully use the V2?

I don’t know.

This is something I do on my spare time and with life being life, I don’t have a whole lot of it.

As soon as the Army Builder is done, I’m sure you’ll have plenty to play with!

But stay tuned by following me here or joining my Discord.

Where’s the money you make going into?

Paying apple developper fees (99$ a year).

That’s about it.

Any money made on top of it will go towards hiring an artist to make an app icon. And maybe covering some cloud costs if I end up playing around with cloud storage outside of Github.

Are you linked to Warcrier?

Nop.

Love the guy, we talk on discord when needed, but I’m not working on the codebase of Warcrier at this time.

Maybe in the future I’ll give a hand when this Warcrying V2.0 is launched.

But right now, free time is taken up by Warcrying.

How Can I help?

  1. Enjoy the app

  2. Share this post and the app with all your friends.

  3. Test the new version once it’s live and give me feedback on discord

  4. Drop me a few coffees to help me navigate through the hell of my own code (but do it ONLY if you can afford it).

  5. Use the affiliate links in the app (or this one) when you make a purchase for your hobby needs.

Stay up to date with Warcrying development & other things I write about!
