2021 is already half done, it’s June and I am still doing the same old fashion things. My income has not changed. I knew Codecademy for a long time, infact I can say from their initial days and today I went ahead and gave their test and started working on one of the skills.
The skills which will be the most important ones are mentioned below. This is my list you could curate yours as well.
Presentation of Data: which is now visual management is something you need a lot whether it’s MS Excel or any other tool. Graphic designer and video editing are two skills which are in demand and will continue to be, content creators require them for lot of task. You can save up to 5 hr for the youtuber’s.
Content writing: In this age when attention span has decreased and reading habits have reduced, if you can write, it is a plus. Whether you are able to write short articles or script you will be in demand for lot of activities. Everyone does not write and therefore the skill is missing.
Big Data, IOT, Data Science: You name it and it is in demand. Create insights and visualize the data on tableau or even Excel.
Website development/ User Interface (UI) / App developer is another area which still has great potential, people have not explored it.
Emotional Intelligence: A skill which will help future generation, if you can coach and help someone who has mental illness, you will be in demand there will lot of people who would need help.
Psychologist: In almost all walks of life. In my opinion visual management and psychology are two skills every one should study. They will open so many avenues cannot even count. Psychologist in career guidance is already a necessity not just for students but for teacher training as well. They need to team up with all the aspects of an institution. Team player, communication skills and interpersonal skills are some which they use almost daily.
Foreign Language: Understanding human behavior and able to communicate with them in their native language will be a killer combination. If you know French, German, Spanish or Japanese certainly not in that order anyone of these you will be in demand for many years to come. This brings me to the next topic which is eLearning.
eLearning: This pandemic has made us realize how important is online education and everyone who was not part of the wagon has jumped in and therefore you see so many teacher’s either learning or teaching or infact doing both. The hybrid teaching model is going to stay for long this gives convenience to everyone.
Last but not the least Customer Service Management, handling customers in this new age will be different, old skills will work however you need to tweak them with digital knowledge. Digital marketing will be in demand for a long time.
Delighting you customer in any time period is the main motive of a business and if you have someone is able to deliver it, he is the boss.
