Cloth - material & motion

Cloth - material & motion

Oct 07, 2026

New version of small, interactive cloth studio in C# and raw OpenGL. Pull a gingham sheet, fly a flag in turbulent wind, or drop blue satin over polished metal. Change the material while the simulation runs and watch the folds respond. No engine, no NuGet packages, no downloaded textures. Win32/WGL, OpenGL and the .NET base class library do the work. Fabric maps, wood, metal props, lighting and the interface are generated at runtime. The project remains standalone and MIT-licensed.

imageRequirements: Windows 10/11, a .NET 10 SDK, and a graphics driver supporting OpenGL 4.3 core. The included global.json selects a stable .NET 10 SDK. No preview SDK is required.

dotnet run --project Cloth.csproj -c Release

The simulation starts immediately. Drag the fabric with the left mouse button; orbit with the right button and zoom with the wheel. All main settings are also available in the panel. Press H for a clean view and P to save a PNG beside the executable.
