This project started as a gift for our daughter's 8th birthday.
She's been fascinated by ants, that she wanted to know everything about different type of ants, how the colony grows, and where to find them.

She watched videos, read about them online, played various ant simulator video games, and we decided to get her an ant farm.

We wanted to have a video feed of ants available to us, maybe even use AI to detect, if something is happening so it's easier for us to go back and see those special moments.

Instead, we ended up doing a 24/7 livestream of her ant colony, which was her idea.

But then we saw other livestreams, and we decided we could make it more of a community. A single place to discover and watch ants together.

While the vision is not fully there, the project is up and running.
