LIVING FROM NOW: What Rises Now Can Rise From Life, Not Perpetually From Ashes. IT DOESN'T NEED ASHES FOR ALTITUDE.
There comes a time when what has risen no longer needs the ashes as its primary reference point.
The ashes may remain part of the story. They may testify to what ended, what changed, what could no longer continue in its former configuration and what emerged through transformation. They may even remain sacred evidence of a journey that mattered.
But the ashes do not have to remain the birthplace of everything that rises next.
There is life after rising.
There is life after rebuilding.
There is life after renovation.
There is life after the recode.
There is a point when the new reality no longer needs to keep introducing itself by explaining what it used to be.
It simply gets to live.
And I believe that is one of the invitations of NOW.
THE RISEN GETS TO LIVE
We often speak beautifully about the Phoenix rising from the ashes. We understand the symbolism of death, rebirth, transformation and emergence.
But what happens after the Phoenix has risen?
Does every new expression require another fire?
Does every expansion require another collapse?
Does every revelation require another season of darkness?
Does every financial rising require another experience of suppression?
Does every new creation need to be commissioned by something not working?
Does life have to keep producing ashes in order to give us something meaningful to rise from?
No.
There is another possibility:
WHAT RISES NOW CAN RISE FROM LIFE, NOT PERPETUALLY FROM ASHES.
Something can rise because I am alive.
Something can emerge because joy is speaking.
Something can expand because desire has something to say.
Something can become materially relevant because my life is ready to experience it.
Something can come forward because there is more life to live, not because there is another crisis to overcome.
The reborn can rise from being alive.
That is a very different relationship with emergence.
RISEN & RISING
I do not have to choose between having arrived and continuing to emerge.
I can be RISEN & RISING.
I can be EMERGED & IN EMERGENCE.
My continued expansion does not invalidate my establishment.
My capacity for more does not mean I am presently incomplete.
My openness to further revelation does not mean reality is waiting to become real.
There are things that have already risen.
There are things rising now.
And there are things that may have already risen before I even possess the present language to recognize them.
Naming does not always create being. Sometimes naming catches up with what already IS.
This is why remembrance can be so powerful.
Sometimes an old writing, publication, idea, expression or moment returns to awareness, not because I am being summoned backward, but because I can finally see it from where I stand NOW.
The return is not always a return to the former reality.
Sometimes it is the present recognizing its own ancient footprints.
The naming can be new without the being being new.
THE RENOVATION IS NOT THE LIFE
There are seasons when renovation deserves our attention.
Foundations are being examined.
Rooms are being reconsidered.
Structures are being reconfigured.
Things that no longer belong are removed.
Things that better correspond with the reality being lived are incorporated.
But eventually, somebody gets to live in the house.
I do not have to spend forever walking through my own life saying:
This used to be over there.
That room was renovated.
This wall was removed.
That foundation was reinforced.
There comes a point when the renovated kitchen is simply the kitchen.
The renovated house becomes home.
The reencoded reality becomes reality.
What was once a distinction becomes ordinary enough to be lived without constant explanation.
The renovation can remain historically true without remaining my present occupation.
**THE RENOVATION ISN'T THE LIFE. THE RENOVATION MADE MORE OF THE LIFE AVAILABLE TO BE LIVED.**
And now I live.
NEW LIFE GETS FIRST SPEAKING RIGHTS
Living From Now means I become interested in what LIFE is saying from the reality that is already here.
What is rising?
What wants to be experienced?
What is becoming relevant?
What is calling for material participation?
What does joy want?
What does celebration want?
What does my environment require?
What does my Whole Life have room to experience?
What is speaking through my creativity, commerce, relationships, rest, pleasure, movement, contribution and everyday living?
I don't have to make these questions into another assignment.
I can simply notice.
Life gets to report what is alive.
And that changes the financial conversation too.
Instead of allowing financial conditions to pre-edit what life is permitted to desire, I can allow life to speak and then ask:
WHAT REVENUE RISES TO MEET THE LIFE THAT IS RISING?
That question matters.
Because revenue does not only belong to recovery.
Revenue does not only belong to emergencies.
Revenue does not only belong to reconstruction.
Revenue does not only belong to repairing what was damaged, replacing what was lost or financing the next attempt to overcome something.
Revenue gets to participate in what is ALIVE.
Revenue for living.
Revenue for choice.
Revenue for richness.
Revenue for celebration.
Revenue for movement.
Revenue for expansion.
Revenue for experiences.
Revenue for environments that correspond with how I choose to live.
Revenue for ideas already established.
Revenue for what has risen.
Revenue for what is rising.
Revenue for the Whole Life.
WHAT HAS ALREADY RISEN GETS TO BE MET
Paying attention to what is rising does not mean overlooking what has already risen.
That distinction matters.
I refuse to turn emergence into another moving finish line where everything already established must wait for the next creation, the next revelation, the next level or the next version of me before it can fully participate.
Rising does not postpone the rights of what has risen.
What has already risen gets to live.
What has already emerged gets to participate.
What has already been established gets to have material consequences.
What is still expanding does not invalidate what is already available.
So alongside the question—
What revenue rises to meet the life that is rising?
—I can also ask:
WHAT IS ALREADY RISEN THAT IS READY TO BE MET?
There is no contradiction between the two.
The established and the emerging can occupy the same reality.
Profitability does not have to wait for finality.
Life does not have to stop moving before revenue is allowed to participate.
THE JOURNEY CAN COMPLETE WITHOUT LIFE COMPLETING
Some journeys have real endings.
Some assignments expire.
Some seasons fulfill what they came to fulfill.
Some dates carry genuine historical significance.
Some chapters reach their final page.
Completion does not require me to dishonor what came before.
Something can remain sacred history without remaining present governance.
I can appreciate what a journey produced without continuing to live inside the conditions that produced its lessons.
I can remember the ashes without requiring another fire.
I can honor the road without continuing to call myself a traveler after I have arrived.
THE JOURNEY CAN BE COMPLETE WHILE LIFE CONTINUES.
And perhaps that is one of the greatest freedoms of Living From Now.
I don't have to make the completed journey the organizing structure of the life that exists beyond it.
There is more life here.
Not necessarily because something was missing before.
Not because the previous chapter failed.
Not because I need another reinvention.
There is more because life is alive.
LET IT RISE
So I am paying attention differently.
Not anxiously.
Not looking for another problem to solve.
Not searching for another ash pile.
Not trying to force revelation into expression before it has finished speaking.
Not making everything that rises become a project.
I am simply allowing myself to notice:
What is rising from life?
Some things may rise and ask only to be acknowledged.
Some may want to breathe.
Some may immediately call for expression.
Some may become experiences.
Some may become revenue.
Some may become choices.
Some may reveal that they have actually been here much longer than my present awareness of them.
And some may simply remind me:
I AM ALIVE.
I don't need another destruction story to authorize expansion.
I don't need another suppression story to authorize revenue.
I don't need another incompleteness story to authorize emergence.
I don't need another becoming story to invalidate what I have already become.
**I HAVE RISEN. AND I AM RISING.**
**I HAVE EMERGED. AND EMERGENCE IS STILL ALIVE.**
**NEW LIFE IS HERE. THIS IS WHERE I LIVE FROM NOW.**
The ashes have had their speaking rights.
The journey has had its speaking rights.
The renovation has had its speaking rights.
Now—
LIFE GETS THE MICROPHONE.
And as life rises, I remain present with the question:
WHAT REVENUE RISES TO MEET THE LIFE THAT IS RISING?
I don't have to force the answer.
I don't have to manufacture the rising.
I don't have to return to the ashes to prove that I know how to rise.
I am already here.
I live from here.
I choose from here.
I create from here.
I receive from here.
I prosper from here.
And whatever rises next is free to rise from the abundance of being alive.
LET IT RISE.
