“Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established.”
— Romans 13:1

“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible.”
— Colossians 1:16

Ultimately, the scriptures summarize this truth with profound simplicity:
“God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this: that power belongeth unto God.”
— Psalm 62:11
