Because Steven was placed in a homeless shelter, sharing dormitory style accommodation with other homeless men, like drug addicts and alcoholics he suffered greatly, but it inspired him to get out of that situation. He got himself into the news media, which resulted in the local council stepping in and supporting him. He’s still effectively without his own home but his own message, which I am sharing below, to our sister Trudy is very encouraging. I appreciate your support for Steven very much.
We have raised so far £282.57, that's a lot of coffees, which is a fantastic amount. Thank you SO much. I am hoping to raise some more before getting this money over to the right support organisation for Steven.
Steven’s message:
Hi sister. Well I'm out of hell. Through the council I have a room in a converted office. With shared shower and kitchen. I slept for 3 weeks. Took out everything I needed from storage. Moved with 2 roommates. The community has helped me with everything. The council also takes care of my finances now. I get pocket money and I'm fine with that. Rent is paid by them. I just sleep. Been recognised on the street by the media interview. Together with Wim (another homeless person), I am going to set up a foundation for the homeless. I don't work anymore but I've seen so much misery that I have to do this.
