The beauty of Scripture is that we do not find God; instead, God finds us and reveals Himself to us. Revelation from God is a gift because we cannot know Him unless He makes Himself known to us.
We do not have to try to discover who God is or travel far to gain secret knowledge. In His divine prerogative, God chose to reveal Himself to His children through the Holy Scriptures. The scriptures are the means by which God has revealed himself to the church.
Through creation, we can know some of God's divine attributes, such as His existence, divine power, and wisdom. However, it is through the Scriptures that we can know Him personally. It is through the Scriptures that we can know Him as our Savior and Redeemer. It is through the Scriptures that we know the Person, ministry, cross, and resurrection of Christ.
Jesus Christ is the climax and the theme of all of God's revelation.
