Let the work find you!

Let the work find you!

Nov 10, 2024

                                                          (A five-minute read).

For days I had been struggling with what to write in this next post, until a friend, and a supporter of this blog, messaged me the words, let the work find you.

I need to work, (or find money) for my return to the UK, and I really am tired of looking for jobs!  I was very fortunate to find a fortnight’s work here on the small island of El Hierro.  I got paid fifty euros at the end of every day.

So today I made a decision, and I bought a ferry ticket back to Tenerife, (two and a half hours away) for the first leg back to the UK.  According to Brexit conditions I need to be across the English Channel by about December 23rd.  That’s my ninety-days finished out of a one-hundred-and-eighty-day period.  Oh how nice it was to have free reign of travel in Europe before Brexit!

I have been googling all sorts of potential work opportunities in Tenerife but as yet have found nothing online.  So, from now on I am not going to look!  I am going to take my friend’s advice, relax, make the move to the next island, and see what it has in store for me.

If there’s a fortnight’s washing up somewhere, then show me the cafe/restaurant/hotel.  If there’s a couple of weeks highly paid boat work somewhere, then show me the boat.  If there’s something far more relevant and worthwhile for me to do, then show me where and what to do!  I do trust in this type of process but sometimes it takes a bit of courage not to stick your oar in and try and create the work yourself.

I have just read through the previous five posts I have written.  In the second post I mentioned wanting to dedicate this site to help amplify people’s voices who want and feel the need to be heard.  In the third post I mentioned the horror of seeing the desperate lives of those people fleeing from various African countries and arriving by boats at the little harbour of La Restinga, the most Southwesterly harbour in Europe.  In the fourth post I mentioned my desire to find a hut on a hill to live in, and about jobs I have done abroad.  In the fifth post I spoke about Missing People and tried to touch on the subject of why I think we are supposed to be on the planet at this time.

Have I helped amplify anybody’s voices?  Not yet.

Have I found a hut on a hill?  Not yet.

Have I found anymore work aboard?  Yes.

Have I helped in the Missing Persons field, and have I given any credence to why we are living on this planet at this time?  Not really.

I do know someone who wants her voice heard louder though.  Andrea Frances.  Andrea is the mother of Georgina Gharsallah.  Georgina disappeared from her hometown of Worthing on the 7th March 2018. Georgina was thirty years old when she left her mother’s house to go and get her phone fixed.  There is cctv footage of her talking to the shop assistant and then potential more cctv footage of her with another woman in the centre of Worthing town a little later in the day.  Despite a lot of effort, the other women has never been identified.  Georgina has two young children.

Andrea continues to fight to keep her daughter’s story in the public eye.  She has sent out thousands of posters which volunteers have put up all over the UK, and abroad too.

It is one of those all too familiar stories where there are no known clues as to where Georgina is or what may have happened to her.  Private investigators have given up their time to try and help-but to no avail.

And what can you and I do to help reduce the awful anguish that Geogina’s mum, children, family and friends feel.  Does prayer help?  I think it does.  We put out a request to the universe to help heal wounds.  The universe hears us and tries to find a way to reveal truths and healing.  But the universe has to find a route to reveal these truths, and are we open to them?  I hope so.  I do hope Andrea and her family and friends can find the truth behind Georgina’s disappearance.  I hope Georgina’s soul, spirit, feels brave enough, ready enough, to trust that the universe can help her reveal her whereabouts in a safe and timely manner.  It doesn’t feel right to me that those left waiting for answers have to suffer so much, and in many cases, to suffer for so long.

I have posted a picture of Georgina in the Gallery on this site.  Andrea also has a gofundme page if you felt that helping finance her poster campaign would be a good use of your money.

Thank you for reading this.

Onto the hut on a hill, where I just want to live in a hut with a good view and just talk to God. Yes, a hut on a hill here on El Hierro would be amazing.  But I could do it in the UK too.   So I shall start looking when I get back.

And have I given any credence to why we are supposed to be living on this planet at this time?  No, not really.  I have started to explain, but it was nowhere near good enough.  The hut on a hill could solve that, lots of silence, lots of thinking, lots of listening.

Earlier today I bought a 55p ticket for a £60,000 first prize.  They are just about to make the draw so I will go online and watch.

If I win, then debts will be paid off, a hut on a hill could be brought, and I definitely won't have to look for any work in Tenerife.  The chances are slim, but there is a chance.

(I didn’t win.  But a chap called Richard Wright did.  Good on ya Richard Wright).

So, bring on the work Lord!

(And if you know anyone who needs to get their spark back for life-in the shop section of this site I am offering free 20 minute worldwide zoom calls, in English, to anyone who feels the need to talk).

Until next time...
