Yes, I was wrong. I have just had a very nice conversation with the sister of the gentleman whose details closely matched those of Mr.Tregantle's, (or Some Mother's Son). Sadly, the gentleman, Austin Francis Fitzpatrick, passed away nearly thirty years ago, and although being in the Merchant Navy and having a birth date that coud have tallied with those of "Some Mother's Son's", Austin was not the gentleman we are looking for. God bless you Austin. I hope I have not disturbed your rest. Austin's sister was a pleasure to speak to and she assured me that I had not disturbed her with my enquiry.
This leads me to make a wider appeal, and here is a video of that appeal. I've sent it to the Sun newspaper. Why the Sun? Because when Mr.Tregantle's body was found, close by to him was a 1978 copy of the Sun newspaper, potentially dating his death.
I have asked the editor, -Can the Sun newspaper help identify "Some Mother's Son"?-
