Detested by Bards the world over, Swindle was so infamous that to this day when someone is tricked out of something they value, they are said to have been “swindled”.
Note: To accuse someone of swindling is a grave insult. If you accuse any Bard, you will be lucky if they only fight you and don't take you to a True Bard to be Judged. If you dare to accuse a True Bard of swindling, you had best be able to prove it for they will most assuredly take you before the nearest True Bard to be Judged.
One of the reasons why all Bards detest Swindle the Bard is that some of the most popular lullabies, including Birth of an Isle, were written by him thus ensuring his continued popularity through the decades. He also invented a number of popular idioms such as “as welcome as a pig in a pub” which we all know means that the person or item in question is welcome as long as it is to either be beaten or eaten.
Some Bards however credit his denigration of the names of all Bards for the subsequent invention of the True Bard, and the laws that say a Bard may never put false information about history or people into song nor poetry, the dire consequences of doing so, and the subsequent veneration of Bards which all now enjoy.
