Holidays, Christmas, Santa and Coffee

Dec 21, 2024

Kia ora beautiful friends and coffee lovers

Thank you so much for sharing this year with me—whether through coffees, enjoying my travels, livestreams, lunches, or simply connecting over stories and people. It’s been such an enjoyable journey, and knowing I have your support has made it a truly amazing year!

As the year draws to a close, I want to wish you all Happy Holidays, the warmest Christmas greetings, and a new year filled with connection, joy and, of course, plenty of coffee

Now, let me introduce you to my very own Santa—John. John was my old boss, and every year, he would dress up to spread Christmas cheer. He never had children of his own, but his joy for storytelling and genuine ability to listen made him unforgettable. Anyone who knew John has a fond memory or a great story to share about him

For me, John was a guide, leading me on a path of discovery and teaching me so much about travel, tourism, people, and the little things that truly matter. He always wondered about ‘the meaning of life,’ and truthfully, I’m still wondering too!

Christmas in New Zealand is a little different from what many of you may experience—it’s summertime here! Families head to the beach, gather in parks for barbecues, or relax at home. Our festive tables are often filled with ham, fresh salads, Christmas cake and Christmas mince pies, pavlova, and, of course, plenty of ice cream

For me, this year’s Christmas and New Year will be spent traveling around Te Wai Pounamu, the South Island. It’s time for our annual tour with the international students, a group ranging from teenagers to those in their mid-sixties. It’s always a lot of fun and such a unique way to explore the stunning lakes and mountains of the south

I hope you’ll join me on this journey, even from afar—I’ll share as much as I can so you can experience the beauty of this special place with me

A couple more pics here of Christmas in New Zealand and I hope you enjoy a traditional Kiwi Christmas song
