Cold Case Disappearance

Today we look at the mysterious case of missing Allan Bryant juniour from Fife in Scotland.

Allan Bryant Junior was 23 years old from Glenrothes in Fife, Scotland when he went missing in the early hours of Sunday November 3rd 2013. He is described as a fun loving young man with a bright outlook on life.

Allan lived with his dad Allan Snr, mum Marie and two sisters Amy and Sophie. He had been a very well liked pupil in his school days at Southwood Primary and Glenwood High School in Glenrothes.

Allan junior's dad says "Allan was very polite to people, if he met an elderly person walking their dog, he would often stop to say hello".

I think this is a relevant point as it helps to understand who Allan Bryant Junior was.

The night Allan disappeared

Allan left his house in Ednam Drive, Glenrothes soon after 8pm on Saturday 2nd November 2013 and walked with his friends to the Leslie Golf Club, where they were to attend an engagement party.

It is confirmed that Allan & his pals arrived at the party around 9pm, and still until around midnight. The group, including Allan travelled by minibus to Styx nightclub.

It is important to note thst the nightclub is only around a mile from from the Bryant family's home, so Allan could easily walk home after a night out but on tnis occasion he didn't.

Allan & his friends arrived at Styx just after midnight and CCTV shows him having a good time with no sign of any trouble.

CCTV also shows Allan leaving the club at precisely 2.02am, he appeared drunk, but was looking around as if to get his bearings as he stood outside the venue before walking off in the direction of Tanshall Roundabout.

This is the route Allan would have taken in order to make his way home, however it has been suggested that he may well have been making his way to a late night party at a private house.

DId you hold a house party in the small hours of November 3rd 2013? Did you maybe meet Allan junior in the nightclub, invite him to a party? Did Allan make it to that party? If so, what happened next?

Interestingly there was no other sightings of Allan on CCTV on his way to anywhere. The CCTV at Styx saw the 23-year-old leave and he was not seen again. This is quite odd as CCTV was commonplace across towns by 2013.

Allan’s father, Allan Snr believes thaf it is possible that a group of approximately ten people may have attended the party where Allan junior was thought to heading know exactly what happened to Allan Bryant junior, but are staying tight lipped.

Allan senior has suggested that what he describes as a "climate of fear" is causing potential witnesses to avoid coming forward because they are afraid of being harmed if they speak out.

He says: ”I think Allan was set up and that he never made it to that party, I think something happened to him as he left that nightclub.”

Something that Allan Snr was confused by was the lack of social media posts from the group of friends who definitely attended the party. Did they fear that posting photos would indicate what happened to Allan Jnr?

It was the weekend of Halloween so many were in fancy dress, yet very little in the way of pictures were posted.

Allan senior said ”Every chance they get they take pictures and put it on Facebook, but not a single person posted a photo that night, even though some were dressed up". I must say I absolutely agree, all I see late at night when there has been a house party locally is youngsters taking photos.

Allan Bryant snr admits that he has gone on a one man crusade since Allan junior vanished to try to get to the truth in regard to his son’s disappearance. He freely admits that he’s been consumed with grief and anger over his son’s disappearance.

Mr. Bryant says that he tninks about Allan all the time "he's always on my mind" he says.

”When I go to bed at night and when I wake up in the morning, I constantly think of Allan, we just want to know what happened" he said.

Allan junior is white, 5ft 6ins tall, medium build, short brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos on both arms. He was wearing a Voi t-shirt with three bands of colour – navy on the top, grey in the middle and white on the bottom, dark-coloured denim jeans and grey leather trainers.

The trainers are probably quite unique in colour, so this could be quite important as there are not many grey leather trainers out there. Did anyone in the area maybe try to sell you a pair at that time?

Despite extensive searches and appeals by police and Allan’s family he has not been seen or heard of since.

Detective Inspector Kevin Houliston from the Major Investigation Team said: ”As part of our appeal we’ve issued video footage of Allan taken in 2011 in the hope that this, combined with the CCTV from Styx, helps to jog the memory of anyone who may have seen him after he left Styx.

It is important to note that the OIC, officer in charge is currently Scot Roxburgh from the Major Investigation Team. He has been in charge for three years now.

It’s safe to say that these past nearly six years have been relentlessly hard for the Bryant family. Internet trolls have devasted the family, leading to one of them being handed a custodial sentence.

The police were forced to apologise for delaying the release of the CCTV footage of Allan and the police chief admitted the footage could have been released earlier.

Crucial time was lost, which has added to the family’s bitterness towards certain members of the investigation team.

So what really happened to Allan Jnr? Was he set up that night or could it be that something was planned against him even before he set off out. Was Allan junior end up in the River Leven? Was he taken & killed by travellers? Just one theory that has been put forward over the years, but Allan senior says he is satisfied that travellers were not involved.

Mr Bryant said"

”I hope their conscience is eating away at them, especially with what they’ve put my family through. Every day is a living nightmare for all.

Allan junior's mum believes that the disappearance is down to a certain number of Allan Junior's friends, she says "they know exactly what happened to Allan almost 12 years ago".
