Search Dogs Did Not Indicate- Why?

During the search for 15-year-old Amy Fitzpatrick the Spanish police brought in search dogs, both trackers and cadaver dogs, and they found nothing.

Now this is something we have been waiting for clarity on before writing.

As part of the investigation and search for Irish born Amy, the spanish Police brought in sniffer dogs and more specialist cadaver dogs to help their search. The dogs visted the home that Amy shared with her mum, Audrey Donohue, mum's boyfriend Dave Mahon and her elder brother Dean Fitzpatrick. All rooms were searched but the dogs did not indicate.

It is quite important to mention that the property where Amy had spent the day prior to her disappearance was not searched by dogs. We are aware that Audrey Donohue ( now Mahon) has said in a recent podcast that she does not believe the home of the Rose family was ever searched properly.

Just to be clear Amy disappeared on January 1st 2008 at 10pm. She had spent the night of December 31st 2007 with her 13-year-old friend, Ashley Rose helpingto babysit Ashley's 4-year-old brother.

The two girls had gone shopping and walking during the afternoon of Tuesday January 1st 2008 befoe returning to Ashley's home to eat.

It is important to note that Amy had told her mum that she planned to spend two or three nights with Ashley whist schools were out. Yes we know Amy did not go to school but ashley did. The narrative is that Ashley asked her mother, Debbie if Amy could stay over on the night of January 1st and Debbie refused.

Once again we are met with a dilemma, did Amy just assume that she would be able to stay without question or did she in fact plan to go elsewhere, knowing Audrey would assume she was was with her friend?

This is not one of the long drawn out blogs, the main reason for writing was to verify about the dogs searching for Amy. Think about the cadaver dogs before saying "Dave killed her in the apartment".

Cadaver Dogs

Cadaver dogs are also known as human remains detection animals and are sepcially trained to recognise human remains even if they are concealed, buried or submerged in water.

The dogs are trained to recognise and indicate to the scent of human decomposition which is very unique in odour.

So, the dogs did not indicate at the apartment where Amy lived and the SAR (Search & rescue dogs) did not pick up a recent scent of Amy at the apartment for them to follow.
