There it was again, the foul taste in my mouth as my friend launch off about a bunch of excuses of why she didn't do the assignment again.
The disgusting taste in my mouth only appears when someone tells a lie, it is rather handy when you need to know who is real or fake.
I raised an eyebrow at my friend before she finally stopped rambling.
"Okay fine, so maybe I got a little too caught up with the series I was watching," She admitted.
I sighed and shook my head, "Honestly, you are going to fail this class if you don't do your work!"
"Alright alright, I promise to do it later today," She promised.
"And I will be at your house to make sure you don't get distracted again," I said.
"Deal!" She said
After school that day, I went to the nearest convenience store to get some snacks before pausing and noticing my friend's boyfriend.
I was about to say hi before a girl I didn't recognize came up to him and held on to his arm. I thought he was going to ask her to let go but I froze as he bended down and kissed her forehead.
I whipped out my phone and took a picture of what I saw, my friend deserves to know about this.
I quickly paid for the snacks and left the store, feeling sorry for my friend the moment she hears this news.
"I should have notice something sooner!" I muttered to myself as I went up to her house and knocked on the door.
Once I was let in, I ran to her room urgently.
"Hey! What's wrong?" She asked as she looked at me with concern.
"You won't believe what I saw at the store," I said before explaining what I saw.
Her eyes widen and she shook her head, "No, that can't be true!"
I took out my phone and showed her the photo, she was silent for a bit before tears started welling up in her eyes.
"I'm sorry you had to find out this way," I said as I rubbed her back gently in attempts to comfort her.
"I thought we had something special," She sobbed, "And why must it hurt this much?"
"You are human," I said, but couldn't go on with my sentence.
That foul taste in my mouth was so strong that I felt like throwing up.
