We left the Kimberley and drove 3,000km to build a new life on the Blackwood River.
We're Jody and Ben, West Australian Contemporary Artists: Jody a Michelangelo Foundation Master Artisan and Homo Faber Biennale artist, Ben a multi-award-winning sculptor and painter whose debut short film has already landed two festival selections.
We packed up our home, dismantled our art studio and left everything we knew behind to start again in Augusta, Western Australia.
We are documenting this journey: the packing, the driving, the sleeping under the stars, and now the slow work of building our new studio on the Blackwood River (Tallinup) - fixing gates and fences, stacking wood, and making art along the way.
It's a record of starting over: what you keep, what you let go of, and what it takes to build something from nothing in a new place.
We make new episodes almost every week - and you can subscribe to our YouTube Channel to follow the story as it happens.
If you enjoy following the process, you can support the vision—think of it as buying a bolt for the studio 😊
