little living room is a new and award-winning female and queer-led social enterprise based in Edinburgh. We are a publication house and a creative collective dedicated to making the arts accessible and a viable career path.
beginnings
Becca, our founder and CEO, created little living room with the goal of making a safe space for creatives of all backgrounds, particularly those from low-income backgrounds and the LGBT+ community. Becoming increasingly frustrated with the unfairness of class division, lack of access to the arts, and having to work ten times harder to achieve the bare minimum, little living room was born.
who we are
We are best known for our triannual publications of art books showcasing the work of Scottish and other UK-based creatives around set themes. Along with this, we run workshops in Edinburgh where our creatives can teach their craft. We are a creative collective, supporting artists through the process of monetising their work.
We are dedicated to making the arts accessible and paying artists fairly. That's why we donate 20% of our art books to lower-income communities, including WHALE Arts in Wester Hailes. Along with this, 40% of earnings from any purchase of prints on our shop go directly to the artist. Besides covering printing costs and paying our artists, our earnings are reinvested into the social enterprise.
