In addition to wanting to experience and share the wonderful activities Lakeside, Living La Vida Lakeside is also a way for me to learn to create and share stories. There's a LOT to learn, but repetition and evaluation pay off.
For my next video, a walking tour of Ajijic, I had to re-record some sections. I had hastily recorded a "good enough" ending. The content was fine, but the video quality was poor. I thought I knew how to make it better "next time". So when I needed to change it anyway, I tried what I thought would make it better. What do you think?
This is a section from the first filming. I'm using my new green wall to give me some flexibility. The green screen aspect worked fairly well, but the lighting on me looks really bad. If I was going for a ghost of Christmas past effect, then I would have been on to something!
The re-record had a different shirt, so that the reflectors didn't become transparent with the color keyer, plus I paid a lot more attention to light control and angles. It think it turned out a lot better. Now I just need a mirror in the area so I can see if I've bunched up my shirt putting on my microphone! Poco a poco as they say!
