Working With Crystals: Full Moon in Pisces and Lunar Eclipse

Aug 24, 2026

If you watched the video I recorded for the New Moon in Leo and solar eclipse on August 12, you might remember that I said I wasn't planning anything elaborate.

No big ritual. No long list of things to manifest.

I was going to get quiet and listen.

Two weeks later, I find myself coming back to that same idea.

The Full Moon in Pisces will be here on August 28, 2026, and this one comes with a little extra oomph: a lunar eclipse.

In some ways, I think of this Full Moon as an extension of what began at the New Moon. We got quiet. We listened. And now perhaps we're beginning to see what all that quiet was trying to tell us. Sometimes, we have to get quiet and listen to know what we need to release.

Full Moons are already times of culmination, illumination, and release. Add an eclipse, and things can feel a little less like a gentle nudge and a little more like the Universe turning on the overhead light and saying—loudly—WAKE UP!

And Pisces?

Pisces asks us to Feeeel. Sigh.

This Full Moon sits across the Virgo–Pisces axis, which is a straight line stretching from one side of the celestial sphere to the exact opposite side, connecting the two, where the practical meets the intuitive, structure meets flow, and what we can organize meets what we simply have to trust. Coming just over two weeks after the August 12 solar eclipse in Leo, this lunar eclipse can feel like another chapter in an unfolding story rather than a stand-alone event.

This isn't necessarily a Full Moon for piling more onto your spiritual to-do list. It may be a better time to notice what is already asking for your attention.

What have you outgrown? What needs to move so that you can let something new in?

What illusion has become too exhausting to maintain?

What unfinished business keeps tugging at your sleeve?

And, perhaps most importantly:

What are you ready to stop carrying?

For this particular Full Moon, I've chosen three crystals that can support that work beautifully: Labradorite, Moonstone, and Amethyst.

Labradorite — Revelation

If I were choosing one crystal specifically for eclipse energy, it would be Labradorite.

Labradorite has long been associated in modern crystal practice with transformation, intuition, and energetic protection. Its flashes of blue, green, and gold seem especially appropriate for those in-between moments when something is being revealed, but we can't quite see what comes next.

Yet.

That's eclipse territory.

Work with Labradorite when you're moving through uncertainty or when you need to remember that not knowing the next step doesn't mean you've lost your way. You might hold it during meditation, keep it nearby while journaling, or simply carry it in your pocket as a reminder to stay grounded while things shift.

Amethyst — Quieting the Noise

And then there's Amethyst—one of those crystals I return to again and again.

Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm, clarity, spiritual awareness, and protection. For this Full Moon, I particularly like it as a bridge between Pisces intuition and Virgo's tendency to analyze everything to death.

Because sometimes we already know.

We've simply thought about it so much that we've buried the knowing underneath seventeen different explanations.

Amethyst can be a lovely companion for meditation, sleep, journaling, or simply creating a quieter space in which your own wisdom has a chance to be heard.

Moonstone — Moving With Change

Moonstone feels almost inevitable for a Pisces Full Moon.

Associated with lunar cycles, intuition, and emotional awareness, Moonstone invites us to move with change rather than fight against it. That's particularly useful with watery Pisces energy, which doesn't always respond well to our attempts to put everything into tidy little Virgo boxes.

Moonstone can accompany questions such as:

What am I trying too hard to control?

Where might I allow a little more room for change?

What am I holding onto simply because I don't know what comes next?

You don't need an elaborate ritual.

Sit with the stone. Make a cup of tea. Write for five minutes.

Let something be unfinished.

That counts.

You Don't Have to Do Anything Dramatic

Eclipses have acquired a reputation for being enormous cosmic events requiring enormous spiritual responses.

I don't think that's necessary.

Maybe your Full Moon practice is lighting a candle and sitting quietly for five minutes. Maybe you place Labradorite, Amethyst, or Moonstone beside your journal. Maybe you step outside and look at the Moon.

Maybe you simply acknowledge:

Something is changing. I don't have to know where it leads yet.

Two weeks ago, I suggested that perhaps the work of the eclipse wasn't to do more, but to get quiet enough to listen.

I still think that's true.

Maybe this Full Moon is simply the next part of that conversation.

Get quiet.
Notice what has become clear.
Trust yourself enough to respond when you're ready.

Sometimes, that's magic enough.
