Welcome to the Literal Dad Little Free Library Initiative!
Ever since I heard about Little Free Library (LFL) I've been wanting to install one in my neighborhood. I love the whole idea behind LFL and what it means for the community. I live in a neighborhood where couples young and old, and families with children of all ages, often take evening walks. The whole purpose of having a LFL in your community is summed up by the vision statement on their website
"Our vision is a Little Free Library in every community and a book for every reader. We believe all people are empowered when the opportunity to discover a personally relevant book to read is not limited by time, space, or privilege."
What am I asking for?
I would like to build this specific model($489) - with a custom charter sign signifying your support for the project [Example of charter sign below]

$489 - That's a LOT!
Yes, it is a lot - but I am so dedicated to this cause, that I will be matching dollar for dollar up to $250.
All donations towards this initiative will be used to purchase, install, and stock the library with books.
I have done a bit of research to price out material for a DIY Library on their site, and it turns out buying the proper material and minimal tools (saw horses and clamps - I already have drill and saw) myself would cost FAR MORE than $500. My estimate was about $850 and that was with basic materials which wouldn't hold up nearly as well as the composite material in the $489 model above.
What happens if you don't reach the goal?
If I don't reach the $500 goal I will end up funding this model with whatever funds we can raise plus my own out of pocket. Your support to help reach the $500 goal will provide longevity, ease of maintenance, and a larger library to support the community.
What happens if you exceed the goal?
While I'm not expecting that to happen, if we do that would be fantastic and I would use any excess funds towards purchasing additional libraries. I would love to have these pop up all over the greater Cincinnati area filled with books supported by the book community! I will continue to update this page with receipts and transparency to show that your funds are not going to waste. I have also considered documenting the whole process on YouTube - comment below if you want to see this!
