The "Price of Admission"
Running these social-media-to-Spotify tools isn't just a hobby anymore—it’s actually become a bit of a "subscription" for me to keep them alive. To keep everything running smoothly 24/7, I have two main overheads:
1. The VPS (Server): The "engine room" where all the scripts live.
2. Spotify Premium: As of February 2026, Spotify rules require any developer-mode app to be tied to a paid Premium account.
The hard cost is about $30/month.
The "Tax" Twist
I’ll be honest with you: I just did the math on how taxes work for donations here in my country. Between income tax and social fees, about 50% of every coffee you buy me goes straight to the tax office.
That means to actually "keep" the $30 needed for the servers, we actually need to raise $60 gross.
I know $60 sounds like a lot for a few playlists, but that’s why I’ve set up 10 levels of membership—starting at just $1 or $2. If a few dozen of us chip in the price of a single coffee once a month, we easily clear that hurdle together.
