So while preparing for my B1 exam, one thing I struggled with was reading real German content.

I wanted to read the news because it felt more useful and authentic than textbook exercises. But every time I opened a German news article, it was either too advanced, full of unfamiliar words, or simply mentally exhausting.

So I built a small Chrome extension for myself.

The idea was simple: help me understand German news at my level.

Not by translating everything into English, because then I wouldn't really be learning, but by simplifying and explaining the content so I could actually read, learn, and keep going without giving up after two paragraphs.

And I was honestly surprised by how useful it became.

It turned reading German from a frustrating chore into something I could do regularly. I started understanding more. I began noticing patterns. Most importantly, I stopped feeling intimidated by real-world German.

Eventually, I passed my B1 exam, and I genuinely believe this extension played a big part in that.

Building something for yourself is one thing. Publishing it, however, is a completely different challenge.

But part of me keeps thinking:

"If it helped me this much, maybe it can help other German learners too."

So I decided to put in the work and publish it.
