This adventure is about more than just the trek; it’s about making a difference for children in need. Our Cause: Meet Teddy Ward, a brave 2-year-old from the Isle of Wight. Teddy has been diagnosed with a life-limiting mitochondrial disease caused by a rare genetic defect known as DNAJC19. This condition leads to dilated cardiomyopathy, severely affecting his heart. Teddy is one of only 55 children worldwide with this condition and the only known case in the UK, making research into his illness critically limited and urgent.
