Sometimes I want to paint and I have a (semi) clear vision of what I want to do. Other times, I want to paint but I just don't know what colors I want to use! I can get "stuck" here, get frustrated, and just not paint (which, I know, probably doesn't sound like it makes much sense). π«
This is where I'm grateful for followers and supporters who throw out suggestions when I inquire with them about something. A couple of days ago, I asked for some color inspiration for my painting that day in an Instagram story.
I checked the story again a couple of hours later and I had a simple, but lovely, color combo suggestion from a follower (and fellow artist). It's honestly not what I would have chosen myself, but not because I don't like the colors or anything, and I'm very happy with the results; I think I tend to overcomplicate things, even with color choice. I usually use 6-8 colors (or more) for a painting, and sometimes it's just not necessary, LOL: it's okay to keep it simple!
Here's a sneak preview from the night I painted it. It's on a 9x12 inch heavyweight canvas. I'll be posting finished results of the dry painting soon! π¨

I love the geode-looking effect that can be created with dirty pours. It was hard for my camera to pickup without also getting glare, but there's a TON of metallic shine in the gray area next to the white. β¨
Colors Suggested: Black, White, Silver, Blue
Colors Used: Black, White, Silver, Navy, Sky Blue (I'm out of regular blue! π«€π)
Stay tuned on my Instagram and Facebook pages for an update with the finished painting! πΌοΈ
In the meantime, let me know what you think π
