Here is a pre-invitation to join me in the future...
This work begins with a question... What makes me feel profoundly alive?
"The Erotic as Practice" is an embodied inquiry into that question. It is an exploration of the erotic as knowledge, power, discernment, creative force, and a way of moving through the world.
I am both the experiment and the experimenter here. My life is the site of inquiry. I am paying attention to what expands me, what returns me to myself, what allows me to feel fully present in my body and available to beauty, pleasure, curiosity, desire, rest, and possibility.
There is also a futures practice taking shape within this work. If the futures we desire must be practiced before they can be fully realized, then aliveness becomes more than a feeling. It becomes a way to interrogate the lives, relationships, systems, institutions, and worlds we are creating.
What changes when we treat aliveness as a design criterion?
What might we imagine, create, or refuse if we trusted the knowledge held within our bodies?
How might we create futures that people can experience, question, shape, and participate in...rather than futures imagined for them?
These are lines of inquiry. I do not expect them to resolve into a single answer or be tidy. They may become essays, artifacts, experiments, images, conversations, provocations, or participatory experiences.
I do not yet have one primary place where all of this will live. Some of it will likely find its way to my Substack that I created last year in Accra but have yet to fully launch. But first and foremost, the work lives within me...in my choices, my practices, my attention, and my movement through the world.
