Update: From Software to Mugs and Tee-shirts

I started my YouTube channel over 2 years ago. Back then I just wanted to know how this YouTube thing worked. I had watched videos, but everyone does that. I pretty much knew I wasn’t going to be a vlogger. I started by creating some informational style videos and a few documentaries.

Then I decided to use YouTube as a method to force me to learn things. I always wanted to learn photoshop, then affinity came along. But you know how that goes. It’s always tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. After a while there will be no more tomorrows.

So, I put it out there on YouTube that I was going to learn Affinity and you could tag along on the journey. I set a goal of one a week and have been keeping up with that schedule for the most part. I missed a week and someone did ask me where the video was. Oops! Get back on it. There’s something to be said for consistency and I’m afraid if I stop, I’ll forget everything.

Then I wanted to put one of my designs on a coffee mug and I found Spreadshirt. Then I decided to move on from Spreadshirt and switched to Redbubble and TeePublic. I just wanted a few mugs……but hey why should I stop there?

I’m now posting my designs on Redbubble, TeePublic, Instagram, Pixabay and now Buy Me a Coffee. Other people did that kind of stuff, not me. Now, yes me.

What’s the message, here? If you want to do something, do it. If you want to learn something, put yourself in the position to learn it. You don’t have to get rich from it. But you might find yourself in a place that you never imagined.
