Practical add-ins for AutoCAD Plant 3D that take the grey routine out of piping and P&ID work. One installer, one SPDS tab in the ribbon.
The tools
🎨 Color Sets: color your piping by any property (spec, size, service, status, spool number, …). A prefabrication view shows the parts joined by shop welds. New pipes get their color while you route.
🔧 Weld Mapping: copies material, size, wall thickness and spec of the connected parts to each weld, and numbers the welds.
📐 P&ID Symbols: your project's P&ID symbols and lines in a dockable palette with previews. One click places them.
📤 Export to DWG: exports the project's drawings (P&ID and 3D) to plain AutoCAD DWG in one run.
📊 Data Manager: a faster data manager. Reports, bulk edits with Excel-style copy and paste, and a link to your Excel lists.
How to start
1. Download the installer: https://github.com/spds-tools/spds-plugins-releases/releases/latest/download/SPDS-Plant3D-Setup.exe
2. Close Plant 3D and run the installer (no admin rights needed). Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" because the installer is not signed yet: More info → Run anyway.
3. In Plant 3D: SPDS tab → My licenses → sign in with your email (a 6-digit code comes by mail).
- New here? Start the 14-day trial with all tools. No card needed.
- Member? Use the same email as here on Buy Me a Coffee: your level unlocks by itself. Bronze: 1 tool of your choice, Silver: 2 tools, Gold: all tools.
Updates come by themselves (they install at the next Plant 3D start). One license works on one computer at a time; you can move it to another computer at any time.
Works with Plant 3D 2026 and 2027, and 2025 with Autodesk's .NET 10 update.
