About Leif Olson
Imagining worlds, constructing futures, writing and living story
I’m not one for credentialing. If we meet, I won’t ask you what you do “for a living” and I hope you won’t take that as a sign of my disinterest. To speak of myself as a writer though, my education becomes a relevant precursor, albeit in a backwards sort of way. I have a lot of it, arguably too much. The highlights include a Master of Education with a special emphasis in Early Childhood Development and a Master of Social Justice and Human Rights. My writing has developed out of a dialectic of the two, towards liberating forms of education that radically reimagine our world in a post-apocalyptic future, that is, a future reconstructed by those born having never known the terror of the Institution, to which we have ascribed many names, not least of which we call School.
