This is the third class in a series that Laurie is teaching about how to sketch San Francisco. All classes will be in two parts, online and onsite.
(1) Thursday September 12, 7-9 PM - Zoom session
We'll cover some techniques that will help you sketch in Chinatown, like ways to capture a chaotic street scene and how to put in those red lanterns. We'll also do some studies of the Chinatown color palette, opening up new ways for you to use color in your art.
You'll be able to access the presentation online to practice at home before we go out in the field Saturday.
(2) Saturday September 14, 10:30-1:30 PM - In-person session
We'll be in Chinatown for the opening of the Autumn Moon Festival, following the parade down Grant Avenue, which will be closed to traffic. We'll settle down to sketch in a quiet side street and end up in Portsmouth Square for an optional picnic while listening to Chinese music. (You can bring your own food or pick up some dim sum on the way).
Zoom link, materials list and meeting location will be emailed a few days before the Zoom session.
