things that make me happy
I spent 15 years listening to the suffocating advice that being a professional creative means you have to create one very specific type of content for one very specific audience.
It's called a "value proposition," and it's supposed to be at the top of your website, in all of your social media profiles, and determine how every minute of your time is spent.
Basically, don't even think about writing a blog post, creating a reel, or pinning something off brand, or risk alienating your Audience.
I followed the advice for more than a decade until I woke up one morning and thought:
Where the hell did my humanity and creativity go?
Now I wake up each day and think, "What would I like to create today, and if it helps or delights someone, even better."
I spend 95% of my time on free content; whether or not you're able to financially support my efforts, I'm glad you found me.
