This resource is designed to help students prepare for the Edexcel GCSE French Foundation Tier speaking exam, specifically Task 1: Read Aloud (2024 specification). It supports the development of reading fluency and confidence in reading aloud in a meaningful context, while familiarising students with the exam format.
Based on the official Edexcel sample assessment materials, the resource includes 24 read-aloud tasks, covering all six thematic contexts of the new specification.
Each task features a clearly stated context and a level-appropriate, exam-style French text that simulates the “Read Aloud” section of the speaking exam. This is followed by two exam-style speaking questions and space for student notes.
