🦅 Operation Eagle heading north out of Lancashire I take a break at Sizergh Castle in the Lake District, an old favourite haunt, the gardens are splendid! North thru Penrith I arrive at Gretna Green where clandestine eloping couples once raced to the Border to marry over the anvil in the blacksmiths forge and there I bought thistle teabags and surprised a wedding! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I then headed up to Fort William thru the magnificent Glencoe Pass in 4.5 hours and took pitstop at Wetherspoon before taking out cash in Scottish notes 🏁

I was awakened next morn by a sunrise in the Highlands where the heavens opened to reveal the glory of God! Awe inspiring, dramatic, unexpected

I drove up past Loch Ness in early sun into the Highlands for a golden eagle but instead found Plodda waterfall, a crashing giant

On the peaceful Black Isle I played sax on Mount Eagle which sort of culminated my quest 🎷 and then paddled at Rosemarkie with its rose pink sands and drank Cromarty local brew Happy Chappy in the beachside Plough, golden bitey toffee

A lady tapped me on the shoulder having taken pictures of me in the moon beam taking pictures which was an extraordinary artistic moment! 📸

Sunrise found me paddling again and walking up the exquisite fairy glen 🧚🏼‍♂️

Great soul food!

I headed south to Hawick and over Hadrians wall at around midnight to Newcastle for the next step! Northern England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

These picture albums take me many hours to clip and load so look back in a few days for the final leg Inverness to Dungeness 📸

Meanwhile I played alto sax on eight hills with 4 more to be added Oct which you can find here ranging from Wales to England to Scotland 👇🏼
