[Forgive me for going on a tangent 😅]
Okay so, the idea that I have is something that could really benefit the autistic community, especially given the fact that there is so little research on autism. This initiative could actually help any big companies/research groups/corporations find innovative ways to cater to their needs, particularly in technology.
This is not only something that would benefit the autistic and neurodivergent community but could also greatly benefit a large company/corporation that had the means to implement it by providing them with not only a larger customer base, but a hidden gold mine of innovators within the neurodivergent community. There are so many of us who are brilliant and innovative when we're working in the right conditions.
Basically, the idea I had was that we could create an AI program or app that runs in the background and pays attention to data—scraping various inputs and noting, for example, what websites you visit, or what you say during voice commands, or what you text, your behavioral patterns.
The concept is that autistic and neurodivergent individuals willing to participate in this kind of research project could use this AI program on their phones. It would function similarly to the Personal Intelligence features recently introduced by apps like Gemini.
The program would analyze data and use context to study the autistic individual's needs. It would identify challenges they face on a daily basis when using technology. For instance, it could document in real-time when an autistic person has difficulty with their devices or struggles to understand something.
For example, I have long searched for a program that could help me organize my thoughts, files, and apps. The reason I became interested in app development was to create an application capable of assisting individuals like me.
This program could make suggestions and ask users whether they want to keep or uninstall certain apps, outlining the pros and cons of each option. If the user agrees, then the program could facilitate that action.
The core goal is for the application to help autistic individuals navigate technology without overwhelming them or causing sensory overload. With this assistance, they could use their devices more effectively.
This initiative could significantly enhance our understanding of autistic individuals—their needs, their functions, triggers, and how to assist late-diagnosed adults who never received significant support growing up. Such a program could offer genuine assistance to help them thrive in society, rather than merely survive.
While resources exist for teaching autistic children, there is a notable lack of support for adults. Companies like Google could potentially profit immensely by developing phones that are neurodivergent-friendly—designed specifically to meet their needs.
For instance, Google offers different series of phones; they could introduce a series explicitly tailored for neurodivergent users, going beyond mere gestures toward accessibility.
No one is currently creating effective and proactive apps or technology specifically designed to help autistic individuals thrive in society. There are many people who go undiagnosed, and many more who could benefit from such initiatives. Our society genuinely needs these solutions—actual efforts, not just superficial attempts to placate the public.
An effective app or product could help autistic adults feel valued and capable, rather than inferior to the rest of society. It would be wonderful to have a product that helps us feel integrated and supported, that makes us feel more normal compared to others. We'd be worth investing in, if only someone gave us a shot.
If you've read this far, thank you for your patience. I know I'm supposed to talk about who I am, but this is something I think matters. And I've got social and patreon links to get into who I am lol.
But if it helps, I'm an enigmatic autistic savant; Jack of Random Trades, Master of Some? 😅 🤭
Oh I'm a video editor and for sticking around, I added one of my newest creations. ❤️ Hope you guys enjoy.
