Sharing latest updates! I just released an interview with Karina - a girl who went to Guatemala at the age of 18 to build a clinic for Maya people.
This story impressed me so much when I found it online - that I filmed the whole “Voices Above Borders” series inspired by it.
Funny enough, I did not plan to film the original story. I had no contacts of Karina or Victoria, and this looked like something much beyond my capabilities on my Mexico trip.
But right before my departure to Mexico - some almost mysterious coincidences started to happen, and I got introduced to Karina all of a sudden. When I was in Chiapas, Karina and I went for coffee and we still did not have any plans to film anything at this point. I just wanted to meet one of the girls that inspired me for this whole trip. But after talking and sharing our lives - it became clear that we have to do an interview.
Now, I feel like this episode is a treasure of my channel. Not only because of hundreds of hours that I’ve put into filming/editing/producing. And not only because of all the coincidences that led me to that - which is really unbelievable too. But because I believe this content is important to share with people, and this is something I might want to focus on for my future videos.
