Last week, we encountered the second member of the family: Umm Marzaq, the wife of Majīd b. Saʿīd, who died on 12 October 1320. As I mentioned then, it is extremely rare for a lay woman to appear in Christian Arabic texts. The next excerpt, perhaps the hardest one to read, is about yet another member of the family. Who is he, and how is he related to the other two people mentioned in these notes?
