Anshita Koul is a Berlin based, internationally touring and critically acclaimed independent standup comedian from India. When she is not touring, she is performing, headlining, hosting and producing multiple comedy shows in Berlin under the collective Overthink Comedy Club.

Seen on the Indian reality TV show Queens of Comedy 2017, Funny Women Stage Awards 2022 in the UK, opening act for Emmy Award Winner Vir Das’s European tour 2024, and most recently performing her award winning solo show ‘Where Is Your Husband?’ Off-broadway at SoHo Playhouse NYC. 

Anshita has created a name for themselves in the English comedy scene in Europe and beyond for creating intentional, political and thriving comedy spaces. And she likes to lead by example with her political satires, punch up routines and a funny itch to decolonise standup comedy. 

Anshita's joke writing workshop JOKES' ON US is a Berlin favourite and has contributed to the scene with a bunch of talented comics.

Anshita believes that art cannot be separated from the artist and representation does not always mean equality or equity. This is why instead of fighting for a seat at the 'table', she is creating an intersectional table of her own.
