Everyone I know is tired just now. I think it’s the world and the news. (My old friend and I always joke that the moon must be in Mercury. Because that’s what people always say. Or Mercury is in retrograde, or some such.) So I think we need more love and loveliness. Every day and every day. I am drawing a great deal on the trees, in their marvellous shades of green, and I’m reading the complete works of Shakespeare, because I’ve never done that before and I’ve worked out I can do it by Christmas.
