Hey everyone! As I mentioned in my welcome post, this is the corner where I share the technical "behind the scenes" of the tools and web apps I build.
I'm currently spending my late nights developing a new private web application heavily focused on data manipulation across an infinite interactive canvas. I want to keep the exact niche under wraps until it's more polished, but here is a quick sneak peek into the project's core for my supporters.
For the code enthusiasts out there, I've decided to build this entire architecture on Next.js 14 and TypeScript, handling the database with Prisma and PostgreSQL.
The biggest technical challenge these past few weeks has been implementing the graphical view using React Flow. Getting the performance just right when zooming or panning across hundreds of interconnected nodes has required quite a few hours of optimization. I've also been working hard on the security layer (implementing in-memory rate limiting and strict CSP policies) and built an i18n system completely from scratch.
What does your support mean here? Every coffee I receive is not a charity donation; it's exactly what allows me to dedicate time to research these technologies, cover server costs, and keep publishing these dev logs with my learnings, code snippets, and early updates on my open-source and personal projects.
I'll soon share some code snippets on how I solved the performance issues with the canvas rendering. Thanks for being here and supporting my work as an independent developer! 💛
