Hello!
Well, how do I start? I've never set up anything like this before, but it seems many of us creatives are doing this. So, I suppose I should introduce myself and explain why I've joined 'Buy Me a Coffee'.
I'm Arden Jones; a working class writer, parent, carer, freelance editor and founder and host of the YouTube live show - KidLit LIVE. KidLit LIVE is a space for creatives and publishing folk to chat about all things writing, illustrating, querying, publishing and of course, gorgeous children's books.
Every week (mostly) I interview creatives and these interviews stream live across YouTube and Twitter (Or X, or whatever it wants to be called. I'm still calling it twitter). In order to do this, I spend a lot of time researching and preparing for the interviews, which includes purchasing and reading upcoming authors' and illustrators' work. Of course, this is something I love to do!
Every guest has kindly joined me on the show for free and I do not charge a subscription fee or do not plan to make this show a profit-based service. Promoting transparency and accessibility is important to me and I want to ensure this platform, which will help, encourage and inspire creatives to continue on their journey, is accessible to anyone, for free.
However, there isn't much that comes for free in this world (neither rightly nor wrongly so), and in order to keep creating this show, it costs money to do so; the streaming service subscription, design subscriptions, the purchasing of books, time away from working all adds up. So, buying me a coffee (or a book as I've set it to) will really help me in continuing to keep this show going.
