I kept running into the same thing while shopping. You compare five "different" brands, and it turns out three of them are the same company. The "best of" lists don't mention it, mostly because they earn a commission on whatever they tell you to buy (and are often ran by the brands themselves).

So I built Plainly. It takes the products people search for most and says the part those lists leave out: who actually owns each option, which "independent" brands are the same parent company, and what marketing trick is running. Every ownership claim is backed by a primary source, or it's marked as not yet verified and left out of the conclusion.

There are no affiliate links anywhere on the site. I don't make a cent if you buy something; that's the whole point.

The only thing keeping it running is you and me.
