I wanted to give you insiders a quick update as I didn’t have time to update my blog in town. I dipped into Leadore, Idaho yesterday. I got in around noon, though I hadn’t expected to arrive until the next morning. I ended up walking a 35 mile day the day prior, which put me ahead of schedule.
Leadore was great and had everything I needed. It was an incredibly hiker-friendly town. I think the growth in number of CDT hikers has given them a nice economic boost. The population is under 200 people and the gas station (Stage Stop) is pretty much the center of town.
The hiking in this stretch has been tough and beautiful. Saw tons of elk over the last two days. Next stop is Darby, MT, where hopefully I will have more time to get my blog updated.
