Are you behind?

TOP TOPPP TIPS

RECREATE EXAM CONDITIONS. Treat each paper like a real exam.

  • Timed test - 1hr 30mins per paper

  • No Cheating - Books/notes away, no looking up answers, asking people for help etc.

  • No Distractions - Phone switched off and tell family you are doing a test.

  • Formulae Sheet (Exam Aid) - Use it.

  • DIMS - Does It Make Sense. Before you answer certain questions, have an idea of what your answer should look like. Once answered, compare your expectation to the the answer.

  • Show ALL Working Out - This is what smart people do. 1 mark questions do not need working out.

  • Skipping Questions - No question should be left blank. If you cannot get all the marks, get some of the marks. If you cannot get some of the marks, get at least 1 mark. 1 mark is better than none.

  • Calculator - Use for calculator papers only. Ensure it is in DEG mode (reset if not).

  • Reset Your Brain/Eyes - Once you finish the exam, apply the 'Reset Method' to find mistakes as you check over your work.

  • Marking - Mark your paper straight after you have completed the exam. Mark in a different coloured pen. Mark accurately using the 'mark scheme' or 'worked solutions' (pdf or video).

  • Grade Boundaries - Check your grade (click here). You will need to use the filters to find your paper.

  • Put in 100% effort. A* effort!

"It is okay to make mistakes... as long as you learn from them" - Mr Maurer

Anxious?

imageAnxiety is for the fearful, not the faithful

Philippians 4:6 Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.

Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of self-control.

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Victory is for children of God. Peace, power, and purpose is yours.
