I'm officially a backpacking instructor for Montana State University's Outdoor Recreation Program!
I just got off the trail with one co-instructor and nine incoming MSU freshmen preparing for fall orientation. It was quite the 5-day adventure: we had to evacuate one of our participants within the first 24 hours, were forced to hold lightning position in the pouring rain for three hours, and our group management skills were challenged again and again. That being said, it was an incredibly formative experience and I can't wait until my next session in July!
