This is an invitation to create a solidarity economy that is rooted in radical reciprocity. I see my work as a gift, an act of love, and reciprocity calls us to honour our responsibilities for the gifts we have been given, recognising that as we receive, we desire to return in equal or greater measure - with the goal of creating a healthy and mutually beneficial relationship. In a culture of gratitude, we know that gifts will follow the circle of reciprocity and flow back to us again. Each relationship will vary in terms of their own unique reciprocal balance, and it's up to each of us to explore what feels right for us to give and receive.
WHERE MONEY GOES?
Youtube is one of the most significant platforms for the sharing of radical subversive thought that would otherwise in mainstream media be censored and shutdown. Even then, algorithmic gods and community guidelines are not friendly towards content like mine considered controversial. That is why the support of my Patrons is so integral to the existence and sustainability of the work I can put out into the world for free. Without this support it simply wouldn’t be financially possible for me to continue.
Your support helps me to pay for equipment, audio editors, a microphone, camera, soundproofing, and lighting, as well as books and subscriptions to online journals/magazines, stock footage sites, file sharing and, editing software.
My aim would be to eventually hire an editor, opening up over 70+ hours every month (I currently spend editing) to dedicate to research, write, edit, refine and create greater quality and quantity videos - the parts of creating I'm SO passionate about. My ultimate dream would be to eventually transition to making videos full-time.
WHAT I’M TRYING TO DO?
My background is in Political Science and Social Anthropology, so I’ve always been interested in the macro and micro. My hope is that my videos inspire us to pursue with increasing fervour and intensity both the internal work and external work, as they are inextricably linked. Not only challenge oppressive broader external structures, but also root out our that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us. Not only dare to take to the streets but also dare to heal and do the work of relational recovery. Absolutely be full of righteous rage, agitate, and organise, but also have the capacity to be quiet, still, look within, listen within and feel within. Welding our outward political social revolutions, with this deep inner reflection and evolution of our consciousness.
