3 years ago, I started a TikTok channel about my daily life with my dog and over time gained over 81k followers. I use it to get leads for my digital products. I received paid partnership offers, but I declined because they weren't a good fit for me and not just my vibe.
Moving forward, in late 2022, I realized that TikTok had evolved into a large online marketplace and e-commerce platform. In 2023, I decided to start affiliate marketing using TikTok Shop for Creators.
What i do is I search for products that I already have like wearables, gadgets, and everything else I love and have been using. I look them up if they're available on the TikTok marketplace and if i found them, I choose shops that sell them and offer a 10% commission.
As of December 31, 2023, I've made around 1,300 sales from 5 different items, including a smart watch, an iPhone case, a wireless lavalier microphone, a Bluetooth on-ear headphone and the small Bluetooth speaker that i always carry in my backpack (The most sold item out of the 5). I've earned around 128k PHP which is roughly 2,300 USD. This was from March 2023 to December 2023, with mid-November and mid-December being my peak sales months where my videos made over 700 items sold.
By the way, i did not boost any post. But some of my videos made over 300k views and over 9k likes. The results were the 1,300 items sold. 🙂 So imagine, if I had better sales strategy or was consistently engaging.

There are also many helpful resources like TikTok Academy and the Help Center within the app. TikTok itself even has video recommendations on how creators convert their audience into buyers. You don't need to pay for any courses!
I hope you picked up some lessons in this short story where you see the benefits of having a large number of followers or audience. But even if you have a small number of followers, it's very possible to earn a decent amount of money on TikTok because they provide many ways to reach your target audience and one of them is by promoting your post without hurting your pocket.
